Project Summary ▶
Eden required a mobile-first, responsive website to cohesively showcase their various brands and provide users interactive tools to connect with their products. Their previous Wordpress site was heavily dependent on theme builders and other plugins resulting in performance and security issues and a code library lacking any semantic strategy or accessibility.
Outcome ▶
Since Eden didn't need a CMS, we opted not to use Wordpress thereby removing the additional layers of complexity and overhead. Instead we developed their website using modular, WCAG compliant semantic HTML5 markup. We also replaced the Wordpress plugins functionality with a secure, scalable & RESTful microservices architecture that could eventually be extended to support Eden's other digital properties
To encourage greater take up we built several custom configurator applications allowing users to build and submit product requests tailored to their exact specifications.
Our strategy was successful and Eden's Pagespeed scores have improved substantially, achieving near-perfect scores for performance, best practices, accessibility and SEO.
